A perambulator is best known as a baby buggy or pram. It is also a wheeled instrument used to measure distances while walking. Other usage includes “one who makes a tour of inspection on foot” and the odd definition seen in Alan Dean Foster’s Paths of the Perambulator, “an inter-dimensional creature that wanders through different universes leaving behind random changes to the fabric of the world”.
